Faith Community Nurses
The SAPC Faith Community Nursing (formerly Parish Nursing) and Health Ministries seeks to integrate health and faith to strengthen the church community.
Volunteers faithfully resource and partner with Caring Ministries in serving our congregation. The ministry focuses on several distinct health areas: Health Education, Personal Health Counseling (including post hospital and newborn phone visits), Liaison to specific community agencies, Medical Equipment Loaner Closet, and Interpretation of the Relationships between Faith and Health. Parish Nurses also participate in the St. Andrew’s Crisis Care Network.
So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. – Galations 6:9
Thanks to the attention of our Faith Community Nurses:
- St. Andrew’s has two Automated External Defibrillators (one one each campus), and individuals besides themselves have been trained to operate them if needed.
- Blood Pressure screenings are scheduled the second Sunday of every month throughout the year, and at HUGS monthly.
- First Aid Boxes at six locations throughout the campus are checked regularly and re-filled as necessary.
- Medical Equipment (walkers, shower chairs, wheelchairs, bedside commodes, etc) are available for short term use at no cost. Coordinator is Mary Bauer: 877-2801. You may also use the link below.
This ministry also participates and is a member of the Tucson Faith Community Nurse Network.
