Join us for our Fall Service Sunday! It’s a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ through hands-on service projects across our campus and local community.

To allow our entire church family to spend the morning serving together, our regular 9:00 am and 10:45 am services will not be held this Sunday. However, our 7:30 am Communion Service will still take place as scheduled for those who would like to attend before serving.

7:30 am | Communion Service (Chapel)

8:00 am – 8:40 am | Pancake Breakfast (NE Campus) – Come eat together! Complimentary meal hosted by our Scouts; grab a plate when you arrive.

8:40 am | Official Event Kickoff (NE Campus)

9:00 am | Service Projects Start!

What is Service Worship?

At St. Andrew’s we believe that service is an act of worship, and it is important to set aside time to focus on serving others. Since 2013, we have regularly traded our traditional Sunday worship experience for Service Worship, which allows the congregation to participate together in meaningful hands-on service projects.

 

Service worship projects allow us to “serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13), bringing glory to God as we put our faith into action. Over the years, these projects have impacted countless neighbors, schools, community organizations, and mission partners. In return our congregation has been richly blessed by the joy found in serving, the sense of community it builds, and the presence of the Holy Spirit at work.

Service Worship is for everyone! We offer a variety of projects designed for all skill levels and abilities. Most tasks are relatively simple, require no prior experience, and can be completed in just an hour or two. Some can be done on campus but we do love to go out into the community and serve. We partner with many community organizations, mission partners and neighbors to shine the Love of Christ.

Interested in leading a project?

Project leaders are at the heart of a successful service worship. As a leader, you’ll have a good understanding of your specific project and ensure the work we are doing is meeting the project goal. We ask team leaders to be encouragers and engage everyone who is volunteering in a meaningful service opportunity. Although the work we are doing is important, the opportunity to connect with others and fellowship is equally important.

We are always looking for new project ideas!   To ensure a project is a good fit for Service Worship, we look for opportunities with the following qualities:
  • Community Impact: Does the project directly benefit a local organization or our neighbors?
  • Meaningful Connection: Does it allow participants to engage with and learn about the organization and the people being served?
  • Relatively Simple: Is the task simple enough for most people to participate in without needing “expert” skills?
  • Service-Focused: We look for projects that require time and talent rather than significant financial investment.
  • Manageable Timeframe: Most projects take just a few hours to complete, although we love when these lead to long-term partnerships.
  • Glorify God: Does the project allow us to “serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13), reflecting Christ’s heart to our community?
