Sermon Series: Stories Jesus Told

Join us as we start this new sermon series beginning January 7, 2024!

Jesus’ most beautiful and mysterious teachings were stories He told about everyday humble realities. Using story, Jesus would invite His hearers into a comparable world to their own, but which operated by principles of the Kingdom of God. T.S. Eliot once wrote a poem about a bird who says, “Humankind cannot bear very much reality.” Jesus was a master of using figurative language to indirectly teach the truth of His identity and mission to people not quite ready to listen. The stories Jesus told are not simply stories worth retelling, but an invitation to Jesus’ living voice with relevance for today.
