Congregational Mission Study

October 2022 Update

From Pastor Pete: The Congregational Mission Study Team (CMST) has concluded its surveys and listening sessions with the congregation. There were over 100 people who participated in the listening sessions and we had close to 400 survey responses from the Congregation. They are now in the phase of analyzing the results and turning that into a written report. Please pray for this team and the important work before them. Their final work once published will be approved by the Presbytery Commission on Ministry, and once approved, will clear the way for the election of a Pastor Nominating Committee. I know that many of you are anxious for this to happen quickly. My guidance to the CMST is to do its work without undue delay, but also without undue haste. The team is committed to producing the very best work that will assist and even streamline the work of the eventual PNC.

The CMST includes: Kevin Oxnam (Chair), Bonnie Kampa, Kirstan Tobin, Danielle Oxnam, Michael Lokale, Jon Woodard

SEPTEMBER 2022 Update

LISTENING AND REFLECTING SESSIONS Come share your thoughts about the search for our next senior pastor. We hope you will consider participating in one of the Listening and Reflecting Sessions scheduled in September. For your convenience, there are six sessions scheduled over three Sundays. Members of the CMST will facilitate two different formats. Listening Groups will be structured conversations centered around three questions: What brought you to St. Andrew’s? What keeps you at St. Andrew’s? What would attract new people to St. Andrew’s? Carousel Brainstorming Sessions will facilitate individual brainstorming, small group discussion, and whole-group reflection. We look forward to your participation. Questions? Contact Kevin Oxnam at kevinoxnam@gmail.com. No registration is needed, and you can attend one or more. Coffee and water will be available. AUGUST 2022 UPDATE

We’re almost ready for your help! As we prepare the Congregational Mission Study that will guide our search for a new pastor, we’re gathering information about the church through various surveys. We have four surveys we are launching focused on different populations: a survey for our Church Staff, a survey for Mission Partners we work with and support, a survey for our church committees, and the Congregational Survey.

The Congregational Survey is launching in August and is your opportunity to share your thoughts. All attendees of St. Andrew’s are invited to participate. Your opinion matters, and we want to hear from you! Please keep an eye on your emails for an electronic survey link that will be arriving in August. Paper copies will be mailed by request only.

JULY 2022 UPDATE

The Congregational Mission Study Team (CMST), which convened in April 2022, is making progress towards our search for a new pastor. This team will be creating a Mission Study of SAPC which will be provided to the Pastor Nominating Committee and any applicants to the Head Pastor position.

The CMST is currently drafting several surveys which will help them gather information about our church. The team will survey the congregation, the St. Andrew’s staff, the church committees and leadership groups, and our mission partners. Using information gathered directly from these surveys, the team will be able to compile information about who our church body is, what our needs are, and what kind of leadership we seek. Please be on the lookout in the coming months for more information about the surveys. Your opinions are vital to this process!
