God's Love in Action
Stephen Ministers play a significant role in caring for people facing tough times. We all experience challenges when we could benefit from the support of a caring Christian friend.
A Stephen Minister is an adult man or woman who has been prepared and commissioned for service to assist our pastors in this special way. Those identified with gifts of mercy and encouragement receive 50 hours of training in order to provide confidential emotional and spiritual care to those who are hurting.
Stephen Ministers come under the supervision and care of Stephen Ministry Leaders and Pastors. Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care to those dealing with a crisis or chronic situation, such as ~
- Loss of a loved one (death or divorce)
- Loneliness or discouragement
- Spiritual crisis
- Unemployment or job crisis
- A terminal illness
- Birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility
- Chronic illness
- Recovery after an accident or disaster
If you, or someone you know, might benefit from a Stephen Ministry relationship, please contact one of our pastors: 297-7201.
If you are interested in training to become a Stephen Minister, a training class is starting this fall. For more information, please contact Cheryl Smith.
